Kathleen M (Mark) Walters, 70, passed away October 20th, 2019 in Kalispell, Montana.
Kathy was born October 28, 1948 to Edgar and Kay Mark in Sharon, ND but she grew up in Williston. In 1969 she graduated from Minot State with a Teaching degree and her first teaching job was in Fort Dodge, Iowa where she met her husband Marty of nearly 48 years. Marty and Kathy spent time in both the Des Moines, Iowa area and in Missoula, Montana and finally Kalispell, Montana. Her early years were spent teaching at Hoover Middle School in Des Moines and then Sentinel High School in Missoula. In the early 80s Kathy retired from teaching and began selling Real Estate which paired nicely with her husband’s Home Building business. She won numerous top agent awards, taught first time homebuyer courses and ultimately became a broker opening up her own brokerage. She was always looking for opportunities to share her knowledge.
Marty and Kathy had two daughters and four grandchildren who were the light of her life. She couldn’t go far without bragging about her kids or grand kids and if the kids were not with her she’d pull out photos.
Kathy passed away from Alzheimer’s, a disease that took her mind many years ago. She was fortunate to live with her illness at home and pass with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband Marty, daughters Heidi (Brian) Rauch and Jamie (Mark) Askvig her four grandchildren Peyton and Ella Rauch and Holden and Melina Askvig all of Kalispell, Montana, and her sisters Ellen (Dan) Hiatt of Racine, WI and Teri Mark (Bill Davidson) of Reno, NV.
