Melva Brandewie, 93, of Bigfork passed away peacefully in her home April 22, 2019. Melva was born in Kalispell, MT to Paul Morton and Mattie (Fox) Morton January 27, 1926. She grew up on the family farm in Holt. After graduating from Bigfork High School in 1944, she married William “Bud” Brandewie October 14, 1945. Together they built their lifelong family home in Woods Bay where they raised their children and worked in the family cherry orchards.
Melva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud Brandewie; sister, Betty Graber; brother, Bill Morton; and sons, Joe and John Brandewie.
Melva is survived by brothers, Don and Dee Morton; sister, Pat Phillips; daughter, Jean Smith; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held for Melva at 2:00 pm, May 4, 2019 at Swan Chapel.
