Nancy Moore Obituary

Nancy Moore, of Kennewick, WA,  age 72,  ended her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease the morning of Christmas Eve, surrounded by family.  Having spent most of her adult life in the Tri-Cities; she lived her final two years at Prestige Assisted Living of Kalispell, Montana, in the memory care wing of a community managed by her daughter, Patty.

Nancy was born August 08, 1946 in Washington, DC, to Robert Arnold and Jo Eva Boyd of Manassas VA.  She attended Osborne High School in Prince William County VA, and graduated high school at the age of 16.  Nancy received a full academic scholarship to Sophie-Newcomb Women’s College, which was the sister college to Tulane University in New Orleans. LA.  While in New Orleans, Nancy married, had her first daughter, Deborah, and worked for West Coast Shipping Lines in New Orleans. She also became one of the first women to serve as a Customs Clearing Agent, at the age of 18. 

The marriage was brief and she moved back to Manassas to live with her parents.  She reconnected with and married the boy next door (literally) and moved to Lynchburg, VA.  She had her second daughter, Patty, while in Virginia and also worked as the Director of the Lynchburg, VA Chamber of Commerce.  Nancy divorced again and met Frank Moore less than a year later in Lynchburg.  Nancy married Frank Moore on June 15, 1974 in Carson City, NV and moved to Richland, WA. 

Nancy worked as the Reservation Manager for the Hanford House, and then started as a secretary for Pacific Northwest National Laboratories (PNNL).  She worked for thirty-one years at PNNL and retired as a Senior Research Scientist. During this time, she completed her undergraduate studies earning a degree in Business followed by a Master Degree in Business Administration from Washington State University. She worked full time, travelled with her job, took night classes, parented two girls, and still managed to graduate Suma Cum Laude. 

Nancy served on the Planning Commission for the City of Pasco. Her hobbies included reading and genealogy research.  Nancy was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR). 

Nancy is survived by her husband Frank, her daughter Deborah Moore Jaquith and son-in-law John Jaquith; daughter Patty Cordell, and daughter-in-law Kim Spicher, as well as two very special grandsons, Colin Cordell of Durango, CO and Morgan Cordell, of Golden, CO. 

A special thank you goes out to the dedicated staff of Frontier Hospice. To the staff of Prestige Assisted Living, thank you for loving her, playing her favorite music, and dancing with her.
