Paul Bryant Plympton, 48
Paul Plympton passed away peacefully on July 12, 2020 following a brief illness. He was a warm, caring, generous compassionate man. Nothing was an inconvenience to him when it came to helping others. If he saw a need he would do his best to do what he could in any way. Whether it be a homeless man needing a pack of smokes, a neighbor needing help with a chore or just a listening ear. He was there. He had the ability to make you feel comfortable and welcomed, and a gift for conversation. People didn’t stay strangers very long around him, they became friends. He was in his element when he began to serve on the Welcome team at FreshLife Church. Smiling big, shaking hands, high fives and hugs.
One of Paul’s passions in life was youth sports and kids. He loved coaching and teaming up with the other dads to share his love of sports. He coached Little League, Rotary Basketball and even the academic Destination Imagination, but baseball was his favorite. He loved the kids he coached as though they were his own and treasured each one of them. He always seemed to come up with ideas to make the simplest things fun.
Paul was a Kalispell native born to Weldon and Kay Plympton in August 1971. Graduated from Flathead High School in 1990. As a teen, he played Braves football and was a catcher for the Lakers. Paul’s greatest treasure and legacy on this earth was his son Bryant born in July of 1994. He met the love of his lifetime Kathy in 1998. It took a while to get married but finally did so in 2003. The times spent together were mostly at the ball fields with their son and an occasional camping trip depending on when the All Star season ended. As Bryant got older, it was Friday night football games and choir concerts. Paul was most content with the simple things and loved his family. He especially loved that he was Papa Paul to his deeply loved grandsons. They were his second greatest treasure on this earth.
