It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Penny McRae. After a courageous 11 - month battle against Glioblastoma, she passed peacefully in her home on May 2nd. Though her time on earth was not long enough, her family takes comfort in knowing she is with the Lord and no longer suffering.
Penny was the embodiment of kindness and love. She always put others before herself. Beyond her warmth, she possessed an extraordinary work ethic. She ran her mowing business for 17 years, taking pride in her work, and running circles around her employees. Everyone was always amazed at her strength and dedication to her craft.
She was the most devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She showed unwavering love and care, creating cherished memories that will last forever.
When she wasn’t hard at work, she and her husband, Scott, of 42 years enjoyed their trips to Mexico and going out on their side-by-side, spending time with family and friends. She also took pride in her plants and her garden.
She is survived by her husband Scott McRae, son Zach (Sheena) McRae, daughter Kalee (Tyler) Knust, and 5 beautiful grandchildren who she loved beyond measure.
A service will be held at the Darlington Funeral Home, Saturday May 30th at 2:00pm. A reception will follow immediately after.
