Sherie Shewalter, 62 went to heaven on Monday May 26th, 2025. She was born to Lennard "Mac" and Bertha "Bea" McBurney on Feb. 23, 1963, in Kalispell.
Growing up, Sherie enjoyed playing outside collecting frogs and salamanders and all things slimy, swimming with her sister, Virginia McBurney and all their friends in the creek by their house. She also dominated in Track and Field, where she collected several awards. Sherie always looked forward to going to Havre with her sister to visit cousins and fish with their Grandparents. She was a true "Tom Boy."
In her early twenties, she bartended for several years and enjoyed partying with friends. She was a rebel, an AC/DC fan, and a party girl, just looking for fun!
At 26 years old, Sherie met Daniel Shewalter and they got married on Oct. 11, 1991. Together they had a blended family; Sherie’s daughter, Brandy Klein, and Daniel's three boys, Jesse Shewalter, Jason Shewalter and Levi Shewalter. They went on to have their daughter, Michelle Shewalter and soon after, they had their son, Tony Shewalter. They raised six kids together in Columbia Falls and later adopted their seventh kid, Braxton Mitchell.
After bartending, she worked as a CNA at North Valley Hospital and then went on to start a career in banking. Over the last several years, she worked at First Citizens Bank and Glacier Bank as a bank teller. For the last four years Sherie worked at Freedom Bank where she loved her job working as a bookkeeper. She loved her Freedom Bank Family where she made several close friends.
Sherie was the glue to her family, truly selfless. Nothing was more important than her family. Her pride and joy were her 15 grandkids, Lily, Urijah, Eden, Elihu, Kalob, Allysa, Wyatt, Elvi, Bailey, Jacee, Danika, Trisyn, Malia, Miles and Aydyn.
She always had at least two kids at her house, and she often had five staying the night on weekends. She made sure they all knew they could escape to her house if they were upset with Mom and Dad or just needed her.
Sherie had the "greenest thumb" of anyone we knew. She was always tending to her enormous display of plants. We often teased her that she needed help because she "had a plant problem."
She always looked forward to a good thunder and lightning storm. She would bring a chair out on the deck and sit and enjoy the wind and the light show.
Whether Sherie was nurturing her plants, picking up a grandkid, checking on her parents, who she was always worried about or was helping us kids with our troubles; she never complained. She was a ball of stress; we all knew it, but no one could hide anything from her. She needed to know what was going on so she could come to our rescue.
Sherie was preceded in death by her 3-year-old grandson, Kalob Conners, who she is now reunited with.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel, and their seven kids, Jesse, Jason, Levi, Brandy, Michelle, Tony, and Braxton; her parents, Lennard "Mac" and Bertha "Bea," her sister, Virginia; her 15 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, aunts and uncles.
Condolences can be mailed to the family at P.O. Box 2713, Columbia Falls, MT 59912.
