Wanda Aaberge Obituary

 

Wanda A Aaberge, age 66, of Libby, Montana, passed away on October 4, 2025. 

Wanda, Auntie and Ma as she was known by many, was born on January 7, 1959 to John Kenneth & Ethel Aaberge in Conrad, Mt.  Wanda grew up with her sister Helen and two brothers Claude and Jay.  She grew up at the family farm for many years on the highline.  She went to school in Chester when younger and then Shelby until the family moved to Libby, where she started high school.  Wanda was always willing to help anyone from making her famous chili cheese dip or lending a hand. She loved having family around and loved our family holidays with lefse and krumkake.  She loved going camping and being around a good campfire laughing and telling stories.  Taco nights were one of her favorites and she was always game for one!!!l 

Wanda met and married Mark Duncan they had two children together Brandon and Shawn.  Wanda loved her children, grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.  Wanda loved to do things for others and did her best to take care of all those around her. She was known for “adopting” others into her family and making them feel like family.  Wanda loved to go to the secondhand stores and garage sales and find goodies.  She had a true love of crocheting and was always making something for others.  Wanda loved music and enjoyed many different genres.   

Wanda is survived by her sons Brandon Duncan of Kalispell and Shawn Duncan of Libby, two granddaughters and a grandson, Brisaeas (Brandon) and Serena & Bentley (Shawn) that were her pride and joy. Her sister, Helen Cady of Libby.  Wanda left numerous nieces and nephews, Melissa Cady (John) of Thompson Falls and her two children Jared Petersen (Columbia Falls) and Caitlin Petersen (Butte), Jeremy Aaberge (Glasgow), Bryon Aaberge (Nevada) and Brandie Terpe (Missoula), Susie (Mark) Sims (Seattle) and Kim (Michael) Thomas (Michigan), cousins and lifelong friends all she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Kenneth and Ethel Aaberge, her brothers, Claude and Jay Aaberge. 

Wanda wished to be cremated and for her ashes to be spread with her mother at a lake close to Libby.
